Heeding the incessant tug she felt towards research and academia, Flavia graduated in Conflict Studies from the London School of Economics. She discovered that she wished to speak louder than sobriety allowed, as she took to the microphone to debate at school. At Land Conflict Watch, she discovered the relevance of stories that capture reality and learnt the importance of researching nuances and unvarying field visits. She gains her courage to – as Marx puts it – “seek to grasp what is profound and true, that which in the street one finds”. This singular realisation sums up her passion to be a part of Land Conflict Watch and to continue working in the field of conflict journalism.
