For the last eight years, Bhasker has specialised in development journalism, writing on climate policies, environment, energy and their intersections. His previous stint was of principal correspondent at IndiaSpend, covering climate change and its impact on India, especially its marginalised. Bhasker started his career with Gaon Connection, India’s first rural newspaper, which he helped build as a founding team member. In his five-year-long career there, he conducted several investigations as a reporter, leading reporting teams, and helped in building the platform's social media brand. In 2014, he was named one of the best young journalists from developing countries. In 2019, he was awarded the 'Young Environment Journalist' of the year.
This is Bhasker's second stint at Land Conflict Watch. Before IndiaSpend, he coordinated with LCW in 2017.
