In Kankarimal village (R.I. Circle: Budhidhar, Junagarh Tahasil) the community still awaits recognition of their Community Forest Rights for the land they claimed in 2016. Meanwhile, the forest department has fenced the claimed land and has warned the community against the collection of Non-Timber Forest Products from the fenced area. The access to the land itself has been restricted. This has had a severe impact on the livelihood of the village residents, especially the women.
